Introducing Reason 16, my newest great-nephew Dylan Francis Messina!
Dylan was almost a leap year baby and almost an episode of Rescue 911, as Brianne got to the hospital at 12:45am March 1st and he was born at 12:58am. It's so hard to believe that the little girl Melissa and I called "Baby Brianne" now has two babies of her own.
As an INTJ female (for those into Myers-Briggs and the like), I am a hard person to know, and an even harder person to love. I wonder if someday my children will want to know what really went on in my brain. I shall leave them this gift. Well, maybe not so much a "gift" as an extremely uncomfortable last will and testament.

Happy Mama's Day
My children are too young to realize this, but when they thank me today for being such a good mother, the person they should be thanking is the woman to whom I give Mother's Day cards. Without her influence, I doubt my children would even want to acknowledge me as their mother, let alone shower me with cards and flowers...

Winning Isn't Everything, It's The Only Thing

Today I'm competing at the MidAtlantic Dance Classic in Baltimore at 12:30pm.
Then I will rush home to compete in the 2nd Annual Team Trivia Night at Cabrini College with other members of my family at 7pm.
My goal is to win both.

Bros And Hos

Tonight my brothers and sister and I have our annual (used very loosely, as we've probably done it 3 times total) siblings dinner. We're going to Poco's, a great Mexican restaurant in Dolyestown, PA, and then heading upstairs for the comedy show.

Strap 'Em In

Ah, the days of having two baby car seats in the car. With these two car seats and the double stroller, finding extra room in our cars was never easy. The hardest part of having Irish twins was definitely the amount of equipment needed.

By The Sea
Today we're headed to the Jersey shore for our last family trip of the summer (come to think of it, it's also our first family trip of this summer) before school starts on Monday.
We're going to Stone Harbor. Brianne and Joe will be at their condo in Stone Harbor this weekend also, so we're planning on doing the beach and various Cape May activities with them. Bethany will also be at the Jersey shore this weekend, in Avalon, so we'll get to see her as well.
While I absolutely hate Jersey beaches, there's something about the Jersey shore that you have to experience at least once per summer. It has a feeling unlike any other you'll find in the world. The Jersey shore is an extremely specific genre, and you can't miss out on experiencing it.

She's Full Of Hot Air
Here's a funny video clip I found of my niece Victoria, filmed many years ago at a birthday party. Eric had created a website, www.mosleyzone.com, when we first got married, and it was where everyone in the family went to see recent pictures and the family birthday/anniversary calendar. Eric hasn't touched mosleyzone in years, but back in the day it was the hippest site to visit in our family...Anyway, Victoria was doing a mosleyzone welcome greeting that I was going to put on the homepage.

An Old Man Shall Lead Them
So, we tried my new WiiFit on Monday night. One of the aerobic activities is running. You put the Wiimote in your pocket and jog along a pretty little path. You follow another runner, who's like a "pace car". You don't pass him. But along the way, other Miis are jogging as well, either in the other direction, or passing by in the same direction. The kids have created Miis for my parents, and various friends of theirs. Those Miis show up in various activities, as extras. As Eric was jogging for the first time, I heard this dialogue between him and Colson...
Colson: Hey Dad! There's Gramma!.......She just passed you!
Eric: Well, THAT would never happen in real life. I'd never let her beat me!
........30 seconds goes by....
Colson: Hey Dad! There's Papa!.........and HE just passed you too!
Eric: Now that, that WOULD happen in real life. He'd kick my butt every single time.

Armageddon
I have postponed today's originally scheduled post to bring you this breaking news.
I woke up at 4:30 this morning, after having a nightmare, and couldn't get back to sleep because our family hasn't decided something.
In my dream, Mom, Colson and I were at a bank when we saw a huge flaming ball of fire fall from the sky in the distance. The shockwave blew in the windows of the bank. There was no electricity afterwards, and the sun was setting. From the looks of what we had seen, we knew a good portion of the country had to have been obliterated.
We have to decide on a place to meet if there is a national or global disaster, people. I say the Valley Forge Park where we have our family picnics. When the disaster hits, get all of your nuclear family together, make your way there and wait for everyone else (if there is an everyone else..........).
Okay, I just had to get that out there. Now maybe I can go back to sleep.

Hot Off The Lewis Press
Yes, we used to be one of those families that sent out "what we're doing now" newsletters.
Vinnie and Tony were two foster kids, brothers, who lived with us for awhile.
Mark Early is currently the president of Prison Fellowship Ministries.

Brothers And Sisters
Okay, I came upon a GEM!!! This is hands down the best find so far. Why, you ask? Well, Eric Lewis doesn't write letters much. Probably because he wants no physical records of his thoughts, as his spoken words have gotten him in enough trouble in his life....Never leave a paper trail.
Also funny to think of Amy trying out for choir...!!!!!! Ah, the hits keep comin'!

Funny side note, Amy ran into this "Dusty" many many years later, at the old KP Corral. Now I know why she and Eric thought it was so funny, seeing him again.
And here is a picture of Eric's "little deal with Sue"....(that little deal's name is Bonnie!!)

An Introvert's Favorite Game
My brother Andrew and I playing one of his famous made up games, Silent Go Fish. The premise is highly creative, you play regular Go Fish without speaking. One player shows the other a card, and that person has to either nod or shake their head in a dramatic fashion...Try it, it's WAY more fun than the original version.
One note, the game MUST be played with generic brand cereal boxes turned on their sides as barriers.

Silver's More Your Color Than Gold Anyway
We Lewises are also very competitive....contests are like magnets for us.

See anybody you know??

Mom was a runner up, she's the 2nd from the right. When I was looking at this at her house the other day, she says "Yeah, I didn't win, even though I was MUCH prettier than the winner. She was sleeping with a judge, that's why she won...."
Did I mention we're also very sore losers?
