Colson and Ava are studying Ancient Greece/Rome/Middle Ages/Renaissance this year. I'm having loads of fun teaching these, as outside of American history they're my favorite time periods. All I can think about is using the immersion technique to teach them history by taking them to Greece and Rome. I would die to be able to do that. Simply die. Google Earth is great, but it's not cutting it for me.
Making American history alive for the kids isn't too hard to do, especially living so close to Philadelphia and DC; making Ancient Greek history alive for them would ROCK MY WORLD.
