Colson joined the recently formed Upper Perk Robotics program (a local non profit) this past fall, and has had a blast while learning a lot about science, technology, robotics, teamwork, and communication. Their team efforts were even featured in the local Town & Country Newspaper recently. With a vision toward exciting K-12 youth in the Upper Perkiomen, PA Valley about the wonders of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, we partner with area schools and community groups to enhance student participation in challenging age-appropriate STEM and robotics competitive programs as a means to fueling a desire for education while exposing students to 21st Century technologies and processes that can lead to dynamic and rewarding futures.
We're currently on a fund raising campaign to purchase additional robotics equipment to help our organization grow so more students can participate. We're still about $2,200 short of our goal. The organization is accepting donations of all sizes and you can even donate online via paypal or by standard US Mail.
As an INTJ female (for those into Myers-Briggs and the like), I am a hard person to know, and an even harder person to love. I wonder if someday my children will want to know what really went on in my brain. I shall leave them this gift. Well, maybe not so much a "gift" as an extremely uncomfortable last will and testament.
